I see we’re similar enough to have common interests, but different enough to have conflicting opinions which make for interesting conversations.
And we’re not similar enough to have common interests, neither do we have captivating conversations, but somehow we love each other’s company.

To the wonderful, beloved person who had this misconception, please don’t let my exasperation kill your confidence or love for bio, but I hope you can laugh at this with me instead.
THE NUCLEUS DOES NOT PRODUCE PROTEINS. NEITHER DOES IT HAVE RIBOSOMES. Would it help if I told you the nucleus is a control freak which keeps all the information to itself and only gives instructions to its slaves? Haha at least I’ll remember this now.
And you didn’t realise it after we went through ribosomes, WHICH ARE THE ONES SYNTHESIZING PROTEINS, and THE NUCLEUS ITSELF. Yeah and despite having learnt organelles TWICE prior to this. ohmygod.
I sincerely hope I’m right, or I’ll #1 feel super guilty if you fail and #2 BE SO EMBARRASSED. Yeah I love you anyway <3

I just read a post by a HCJC student about her two years in HCJC, and how her not very satisfactory (compared to her peers) A level results were actually very satisfactory to her and were the fruits of her toiling. She mentioned how there is much pressure from the school/peers/etc to do much better than she had been, because she fell far below average in HCJC.
I think there are people who feel this way in every school. Being in NUSH, I have first hand experienced the gigantic efforts I have to put in to just maintain average grades here while in primary school, I didn’t even have to study to rank in the top ten. But that’s not my point.
*note to readers, if there are any, I wrote the following paragraph after writing the entire bottom portion, so this is a summary of what I elaborated on to no end like a naggy grandmother below*
My point is, be contented with what you’ve achieved so far, and don’t let others make you feel like you have to achieve what your peers are able to. Know your own capabilities, work with them, and even try to push beyond it. That said, don’t let it be a limitation, but rather use it as a guide. Wherever you are, take full advantage of the facilities and resources provided. Its your gain to have great teachers and texts! So, don’t buckle under the pressure of expectations. Just get over it, and move on.
